Remembering the legacy of ‘Donnie Darko’

Twenty-eight days, six hours, 42 minutes and 12 seconds: that’s how long until the world ends.

Or maybe not, depending on which timeline you’re existing in.

This evening, University College London’s Film + TV Society screened “Donnie Darko.”Β Ahead of the screening, I wrote about the legacy of “Donnie Darko” for millennials via UCL Film + TV Society’s blog.

While I didn’t direct quote anyone, I did do some light research. I didn’t think it would be fair to assert “young people think XYZ” if I was just riffing off my own theories.

So I’d like to thank the art ho(e)mies Bex, Charlotte, Tina and Cher, the woke queen of film, as well as Taylor, Glendon, Morgan and Natsumi. Their opinions on the film’s storytelling, soundtrack, casting, portrayal of mental illness and overall impact were insightful for me.
